Anthony DePass, Ph.D., Chairman
Dr. Anthony DePass is a Professor of Biology at Long Island University, where he serves as PI and Director of the LIU MBRS RISE (NIH), and the LIU ADVANCE (NSF) programs and Co-PI of LIU’s Noyce Teacher Scholarship program. Dr. DePass has nearly 20 years experience in grants and program management, and currently has over $5 million in active grants.
Corresponding Secretary
Dr. Dhanfu(pronounced: dah-nee-foo) Elston serves as Complete College America’s Chief of Staff and Senior Vice President for Strategy where he utilizes his national policy and campus expertise for practical application, implementation, and scaling of CCA strategies at institutions throughout the United States.
Treasurer
Dr. Lynch is the Associate Provost of Scholarship, Research, and Innovation at Winston-Salem State University. Dr. Lynch’s research portfolio totals more than $40 million, specializing in program evaluation and research methodologies.
Financial Secretary
Dr. Brian Stone is a native of Birmingham Alabama. He is the founder of Jasper Urology Associates which is the leading provider of urologic care in that region of the state of Alabama for over 10 years. He created the robotic surgery program at the Walker Baptist Medical Center in 2010. He serves as president of Northwest Alabama Lithotripsy LLC and Alabama Sexual Medicine Specialists LLC.
Vice Chair
Dr. Ursula Thomas recieved her Ph.D. in Childhood/Elementary Education from the College of Education at The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa.
A well published author, her research interests include: social justice, developmentally appropriate practice, early childhood curriculum/ instruction, literacy and teacher knowledge at the intersection of race, class and gender.
